Horizon Rosco

The first West End installation of Rosco ET’s new Horizon lighting control software has been successfully incorporated as part of the new lighting design project for Starlight Express at the Apollo Victoria for clients Really Useful Group.
In a tightly co-ordinated operation, Lighting Technology supplied a PC with two 19” monitors and a Horizon 1024 Node complete with Horizon Gold software for the main system – together with a back-up system of one 19” monitor plus Node and Gold Software. LT also undertook all data distribution work for the project. Rosco supplied the FOC Wing Panel and a copy of the Gold software.
Lighting designer for the re-light was Howard Eaton who has been closely involved with Starlight Express since it opened in 1984. For the system set-up on site he linked with Andy Neaves, production electrician for Lighting Technology Projects and Robert Bell from Rosco ET.
The whole operation had to be installed in a very small time-frame between closure of the theatre for a refit on 5th May and its re-opening on 17th May. The order confirmation for Horizon had been received on 30th April and the technical set-up and pre-programming commenced on 10th May with the re-light starting on 14th May.
Howard Eaton commented: “The installation successfully continues the long-standing link between Andrew Lloyd Webber musical productions, including Cats and Evita, and the ingenious control systems based on the expertise of Gordon Pearlman of Rosco ET.”
