Founded in 1930s by Jack Bishop. Provided sound effects (on acetate discs) and playback equipment to theatre productions until the 1950s.
From 1937, Bishop also recorded performances (for archive purposes, and/or to preserve copyright on performances). A large collection has been digitised by the British Library.
