What a score! 2 weeks ago while visiting my mother, looking through old photos I came across these. Luckily, one pic had the date stamped on back. August 1968. I threw them in the pile of pics I was "acquiring" from her, and here they are for your enjoyment. This first pic, I havnt been able to identify. If anyone can identify it, or has comments on any of them, feel free to apply. Also, feel free to add to the Wiki.
First pic: Unknown house. Notice arm on right. Security guard? We're they off the tram? Almost looks like a production bungalow.
Here is the first Leave It To Beaver House. One thing I noticed is the shrubs that border the walkway. I didn't see those in any other pics of the house.
I guess this would be considered "New York Street" ?
There's a lot of history in this pic. Park Lake, Little Europe and beyond...
The Colonial Mansion...
And then I cam across this little gem.. Yes, its me! From August 1978.. I was only 4 years old. And I still go to Universal at least once a month!

Very cool pictures.
With regards to the Leave It To Beaver House, the picture you have is the house configured for Marcus Welbey. If the other pictures you are referring to are during the LITB days then the shrubs weren't there. _________________ John

So does anyone have any idea what the house in the first picture is? There is a possibility it is a house not at Universal, but in the set of pics I got, they were all Universal Studios.. but it is possible its someones house my family was visiting at the time.. any ideas? _________________ Scott

The first picture is a star's Dressing Room.
Visitor's depart from the tram on the lower lot. Walk through a Star's Dressing room and then follow the walkway to the sound stages.
The name of the featured star changed over the the years. The Lucy Ball's Dressing room is the last I can remember.
After visiting the sound stage, we boarded the trams again. The next attraction was a tram ride throw the property warehouse. Then on to Colonial street and the Munster house. |
