Lighting Stencil: Theatre Projects  (1963)

In his excellent e-book 'A Theatre Project', Richard Pilbrow writes that the stencils were created in 1963, as previously designers had simply traced the symbols from existing paperwork or used more generic shapes from existing engineering stencils. The symbols were drawn up by Bob Bryan (of Theatre Projects) and were made by UK manufacturer UNO (at 1:24 and 1:48 scales). They were sold in the UK and USA and were a great success.
The ones shown below were made sometime after 1978 and are metric scales (1:25 and 1:50).
